An outstanding example of environmental stewardship with the Streeter Park Turf Conversion and Demonstration Garden, expected to save 1.5 million gallons of water on an annual basis. Nominated by Riverside Public Utilities.

Outstanding Waste Reduction Award:
University Village


In recognition of their waste management practices to 23 restaurants, 13 retail shops and a convenience store that comprise the complex. Annually, 276,000 lbs. of recyclable material are diverted, 33,832 lbs. of green waste and 212,400 lbs. of food waste are converted into mulch, compost or fuel to power electric generators. Nominated by Burrtec Waste Industries, Inc.
